Fall is here and it's time to start some natives for this winter. On Monday I started 3 flats (1/2 each of purple needle grass, giant wild rye, showy penstemon, scarlet bugler, bladderpod, and black sage) On Saturday the purple needle grass appeared and today the first bladderpod came up.
Some new things for this year are redbud trees and toyon. The redbud seeds were treated with boiling water and soaking overnight. The toyon seeds were soaked for a week and then separated from the berries. We'll see if any germinate.
